Finally Google has updated its toolbar pagerank after 9 months. Google generally used to update the pagerank in 3 to 4 months interval and the 2010 season had longest interval ever in the history. Many people had started thinking that pagerank will vanish now permanently. This is great news for folks who were eagerly awaiting for the update. Why Pagerank Is Important ?

The higher pagerank you see the more happier you will become. It feels like you have gained a short of reputation. But this is not the main factor. Many people sell links for 100s of dollars from high PR pages. But remember, selling links will pass the juice all over to seller’s URLs giving you less juice. Google determines the pagerank according to incoming links a site has and the outgoing links.

How to get high pagerank ?

Quality content is main thing. Provide quality content and get quality backlinks. You can do link building campaign also. Getting links from high PR pages will give you higher pagerank. Only backlinks is not the factor. See digitalpointforum and warriorforum. Despite of having tons of backlinks they have pr4 only. However, the PR from these sites will be passed all over inner pages.

PR is Increased ? Don’t be overexcited.

Guys, PR is updated daily and you see only when google wants to show you. It is when toolbar PR is updated. Many become happy when they see their PR is increased and start working less on the site which cause PR decrease in next update. You need to keep working even more to seem it natural for search engines.

PR is Nothing, Traffic Is Everything ?

There is a group of people who only focus on PR and the other ignores PR. FreePlant.Net is PR0 since long but it gets 2000 around daily traffic and earning good through ads. PR is only important to those who are specially focused on selling links and google doesn’t allow you to sell links. It is something serious ! Well, however, you can give some love of your PR to your favorite sites. Relevancy is must !

However, traffic is most important factor for each webmaster who are serious. If your site doesn’t have traffic then it won;t earn good revenue.

Google, the King of search engine has updated its Page Rank system today. Actually google pagerank updates daily but we only know when the toolbar shows it which occurs only few times in a year. Last time there was bit delay in page rank update but this time google updated the page rank in expected time. BTW, this blog is now PR4 and was PR3 before this which is petty good news. I had expected PR5 or PR6 but this couldn’t happen. I am good satisfied with PR4 and lets hope it won’t drop next LOL.

Value of PR – Page Rank

Actually speaking there is no value of PR. It is just google algorithm which gives pagerank to each page according to its importance. We don;t know how it will determine the importance of page. We only know that good and quality backlink only will help to boost PR. May be there is something else also, forget about it. Though PR has actually no value it is most important to some people who are selling links according to their PR. There are thousands of webmasters earning 1000s dollars each months only by selling PR links. To them PR update has much value. When there PR is increased they feel as they won some race where there was million dollars bet and when it drops they are too sad though there is not much to loose. So, game of PR has become like game of gambling (OOuch,sorry) to few of us. Never mind LOL

Selling PR and having more OBL is bad

Take example of DigitalPoint forum which is PR4 only since long time. It has 100s of backlinks that we have never expected and was PR7 one time. This is not because it is selling links but because there are too many OBL divided into signature links of users. The benefit is to the users. Also, if you are selling links then you may not see any change in PR or may see it has been dropped. However, if you are maintaining the quality you will surely see positive results.

PR update takes few days time and not all sites are updated at same time. Wait, and never worry. If you have done well, you will surely good results. If you still didn’t see change after few days then you have no option than waiting till next update and working as you were doing or even in a better way.

Many try this and i hate it most. Why do you follow other people’s backlinks ? Build your own good backlinks. The pages that have PR6 have high chance of dropping to PR1 in next update and quality PR0 pages may boost to PR5 in next update. Don;t try to copy others. Number of links that are in the particular web page is known as outbound link and the main affecting factor for google pagerank is total number of outbound links. Lets say, you have a PR7 backlink and in a simple way you should be getting at least page rank 5 but this is only in case you have less than 5 outbound links. If you have 50 outbound links then you may only get PR1. This is because the Page Rank will be shared with your outbound links. This is why when you start selling links your page rank will start dropping !. To maintain your page rank value you should always be building backlinks of your inner pages as well. Whenever you create a inner page create at least 20 backlinks for it from high pr pages. The best way will be only selling few links from your page. If you have PR4 page then sell only 2 links. This will keep your outbound link below 10 and there is very less chance of your page rank being dropped. Not selling link would be best way but we all want to earn money from our website. In this case better sell 2 links only but sell them in very high price.

Another point to be noted is you should find pages with less outbound links while commenting on blogs. Because the pages with lots of outbound links are valueless. The pagerank of such pages will surely drop in next google pagerank update. So, if you see PR6 this time then after a month it can be Pr1 or 2. Also, you will not be getting the backlink value.

We all know the power of backlink but still fail often though we have strong backlinks. The main reason behind is improper backlinks. We should always create backlink of a inner page of our site not of our homepage.

Google has a algorithm in which it says clearly that no inner page can have more pagerank than home page. People simple ignore it and don’t ever try to understand the hidden clue behind. It means, if you create backlink of your home page from a PR7 page then your homepage may get PR5 in one update but in next update your PR will be shared with inner pages and the homepage page rank will drop. But, if you create same backlink of a inner page then your inner page will get PR5. This will automatically make your homepage PR5 at least because no inner page can have higher page rank than its homepage. So, you got 2 pr5 pages ! Well, in next update your other inner pages will get page rank and your homepage page rank won’t change because you already have a pr5 inner page. In this way, if you keep on creating backlinks for your inner pages then you will be having many many PR pages.

So, for getting best PR value in long term always keep building backlinks of inner pages and not of homepage. However, creating backlinks for homepage will help in SEO for the targeted keywords.

Well, the google page rank is a simple algorithm based on backlinks. Its very easy to make your site get page rank 6 but its petty hard to get your site ranked on 6th position of google.com for targeted keyword. You can see that PR0 site are on #1 rank on PR7 site no where ranked !

Does google page rank doesn’t help even a little for SEO ?

Google Page Rank only doesn’t help even a little for seo. But, if you do some search engine optimization work and also have a good rank then it will surely help to boost your ranking. You can see that many directories rank sites according to pagerank. Lets say, you have submitted your site to over 2000 web directories and then you have pagerank 6 then there you will be listed on first page of those directories giving you solid backlink. This will surely help you to boost ranking.

Understand that you can get pagerank 5 with a single backlink but it never helps for seo. However, if you have 100 backlinks then of course your rank position in search engine will boost. Also, these backlinks will give you page rank.

Why i see often high PR site ranked on top of search engines ?

Though i said above that even high pr pages are no where ranked for targeted keyword in search engine but you may often see that high pr pages on first page of search engine. This is because they have 1000s of backlinks which helped in SEO and also gave PR.

Note : I hope you are clear about page rank and SEO. SEO depends on many factors and will be surely discussed here. But PageRank only depends on backlink. So, getting high PR won’t give you better ranking in search engines.

Also, its fact that people generally search high PR pages and if you have high pr site they will surely find it. Then they may follow your site for posting backlinks etc. This will give you more traffic and when there are more traffic you may see your search engine position boosting. ! All of the Webmasters were eagerly waiting for Google Pr update and it finally occurred on30th OCt 2009. Some of our websites must have degraded from PR6 to Pr2 or PR0 and some of us must have gained PR5 from PR0. Well, as always some celebrated and some were sad. This Blog Baba Pandey jumped from PR0 to PR3 though i hadn’t build much backlinks and it was new site. One of my Site jumped to PR5 from PR0 and that made me happy.

Page rank is calculated on basis of Quality of Backlink. My this site has few BackLinks but they are Quality Backlinks. So, what happens is 50 Quality Backlinks wins 500 low Quality backlinks. My Site is Currently Well ranked on google also. My Targeted keywords are :

Seo Master
Seo Expert

And i am trying to get top rank on these keywords. Lets see what will happen. Actually i am busy with my clients projects so unable to work on my own projects.

We all can notice the delay in google page rank update. The reason behind this is google staff know the black market running. Many of us are purchasing links and doing spam with blackhat methods. In last update many useless sites got high PR using similar technique and now google wants to stop this and give PR to the important pages only.

Is it possible to scan all websites by humans ?

Its never possible. But google is going to change the bot system and now will calculate only relevant backlinks as real backlinks. So, if you are getting high PR backlink from irrelevant site means you will not higher value. Before, backlinks from irrelevant pages also had high value. But now google will slighly change the policy for backlinks from irrelevant sites. However, backlinks from irrelevant  sites will be counted.

Many New Sites Launched.

Since the last update of Google PR many New Websites have launched and its being hard for Google server to index data of all pages. This is also another reason for the delay. You can image the number of growth in new websites. Its increasing everyday. This is creating delay in Google crawl rate.
